The bohemian harbour
Gümüşlük
A protected former fishing village built over the sunken ruins of ancient Myndos, and the peninsula's arts colony.
Local ordinance keeps large-scale development and loud nightlife out, so Gümüşlük has held onto what much of the coast lost: seafood tables at the waterline, galleries and studios in the lanes, and the harbour walls of a Carian city visible under clear water.
Evenings mean the walk out towards Rabbit Island at low water and what many consider the peninsula's best sunsets. For buyers it is the quiet, characterful counterpoint to the marina towns.
